Palm tree earring SVG cut file

Palm tree earring SVG cut file

If you are headed south this winter or even if you just love tropical design than why not make these earrings to complete your warm weather outfit. These palm tree earrings are easy to make they include 2 layers that you cut out and stack on top of the other. You can cut them out of faux leather or creative a more blingy look with glitter vinyl.

These earrings can be made a variety of ways. You can cut out both the top and bottom layer out of faux leather and just stack one on top of the other with a jump ring. This way when it moves you can see the bottom layer moving as well. Or you could make the top layer out of heat transfer vinyl and press it onto the solid bottom layer. This way you will get the most amount of detail. Have fun with the colors and mix and match to create different tropical designs. I recommend cutting the faux leather out with a purple sticky mat and the heat transfer vinyl with a green sticky mat.

    Step by step instructions

    Step 1

After you have downloaded the free file open up Cricut design space. Select the “Upload” button in the bottom left corner.

    Step 2

You will see the palm tree design in “Recent Uploads”. Select it and then press “Add to Canvas” in the lower right corner.

    Step 3

You will now see the design in the canvas. Press “Ungroup” and now you can turn off any layers you don’t want to cut.

    Step 4

I recommend working on just one layer at a time that way if you make a mistake you won’t waste material.

    Step 5

On the “Prepare” screen you will see where to the design will cut on your mat. Now you can reposition it so that if the top left corner of your mat is getting worn out you can select a different area to cut. When you are ready press “Continue” in the bottom right corner.

    Step 6

For the bottom layer I am using faux suede so I selected the “Faux leather(paper thin)” option and set the pressure to more. I will also be using the purple sticky mat.

For the top layer I am using heat transfer vinyl. I recommend cutting with the green sticky mat and I set the machine to “Vinyl” and selected more pressure.

    Step 7

After you cut out the heat transfer vinyl you will need to weed it to get rid of all the negative space you don’t need.

    Step 8

To assemble place the heat transfer vinyl on top of the faux leather. You can use heat tape to hold in place if you are worried about shifting. Place a layer of teflon or parchment paper both on bottom and on top. Then press with a mini press according to your manufacturer instructions. I used medium heat for around 15 seconds.

    Step 9

Now twist open a jump ring and layer the earring and an earring hook and twist the jump ring to close.

    All done!

    Now your earring is complete.
