    Materials list

    Step by step instructions

    Step 1

After you have downloaded the free SVG cut file open up Cricut design space. Next select the “Upload” button in the bottom left corner.

    Step 2

On the next screen select the “Upload Image” button and select the llama earring svg file. More than likely it will be in your downloads file. If you need more unzipping the file check out this post here. Or if you need help uploading an SVG file to Cricut design space than click here.

    Step 3

Than select the llama earring design in the recent uploads section and then press “Add to Canvas”

    Step 4

Now you will see the earring cut file with and without hole. Select upgroup and turn off whichever layers you don’t want to cut.

    Step 5

I recommend just cutting out one at a time so that you get a perfect cut. When you are ready to cut press “Make it”.

    Step 6

On the prepare screen you have the option to move the design around where you want it to cut on your canvas. If you are cutting the top layer out of heat transfer vinyl than you need to press the Mirror option so that it flips the cut.

    Step 7

On the Make screen you will have the option to select your print settings for you material. For the faux leather (paper thin) setting and I selected the more pressure to help me get a cleaner cut.

If you are using heat transfer vinyl for the top layer than I recomend the “Vinyl” settings and depending on the brand you are using it can be helpful to select more pressure.

    Step 8

For this earring I recommend using heat transfer vinyl for the top layer. As you can see below, because of the complicated design, you get the sharpest edges from vinyl. A faux leather or heat foil will not show the design as well.

Now that your Cricut machine is all set up to cut you can load the faux leather and heat transfer vinyl to cut out the shapes.

    Step 9

Here are the two layers cut out. The top layer is cut out with heat transfer vinyl. I made sure to mirror the image. I also went ahead and weeding the vinyl so that it is ready to be ironed.

    Step 10

Now place the heat transfer vinyl onto the top of the faux leather bottom. If you are worried about the vinyl shifting you can use a peice of heat tape to hold it in place. I recommend using teflon sheets to iron but you can also use parchement paper.

    Step 11

After the vinyl has been attached if the the holes did not cut well with the Cricut machine you can use a small craft punch.

    Step 12

The next step is to open up a jump ring and attach the earring as well as a earring hook, now twist the jump ring to close.

    All done!

Now the earrings are complete and are ready to be worn.

I hope you enjoy this SVG cut file and use it to make lots of fun earrings.
