Grid earring SVG cut file

Grid earring SVG cut file

These fun grid style earrings would look great with a graphic or sleak outfit. You can scale them down to 1.5 inches for a cute little earring or scale the pattern up to over 2 inches for a bold style. Mix and match the colors to create different styles. These would also look great with neutral colors for an everyday look.

    Step by step instructions

    Step 1

After you’ve downloaded the free file from my blog. Open up Cricut design space and select the Upload button in the bottom left corner.

    Step 2

On the next page you will be shown another page that says “Upload Image”.

    Step 3

Select the image from “Recent Uploads” and select “Add to canvas” in the bottom right corner.

    Step 4

Now you will see the file uploaded to the canvas. Now you can turn the layers on the right on and off depending on which ones you would like to cut out first. Once you’ve selected what you want to cut, then press the “Make it” button in the top right corner.

    Step 5

On the Prepare screen you will see your design where it will be cut on the mat. You can choose now to move it around to a different place on the mat if you wish. Once you are satisfied press “Continue” button in the bottom right corner.

    Step 6

On the Make screen you can now choose which material setting you want your Cricut machine to use while cutting. And you can also choose the pressure. I have selected “Faux leather (Paper thin)” as well as more to cut out the faux leather.

    Step 7

Cut out the material you are using to just the size of the cut. This is a good way to keep the fabric in place on your mat and make your mat last longer.

    Step 8

Cut out the layers as well as any adhesive or foil or other material you are using. In this tutorial I am using faux leather for both top and bottom as well as Heat ‘n bond as the adhesive to stick them together.

    Step 9

Place the heat ‘n bond paper side up on top of the top layer. You can use heat tape to keep it in place if you are worried about shifting. Now press on low for around 7-10 seconds. Make sure to put a protective barrier between the iron and the earring such as parchment paper.

    Step 10

Peel off the paper backing and now place the grid peice adhesive side down onto the bottom layer. Press on low with a peice of parchment paper on top to protect the material for approx 10 seconds.

    Step 11

Attach the jump ring and earring hook through the hole. Use flat nose pliers to open and close the jump ring.

    All finished!

Now your earring is complete and you can repeat this design with lots of different colors and materials. Get creative and try this design with foil or adhesive vinyl for the top layer.

I hope you enjoy this SVG cut file and use it to make lots of fun earrings. If you enjoy the tutorial make sure to share it on Pintrest with the images below.
