Free svg earring designs

Free svg earring designs

I’ve been making some fun new earrings for myself and I thought I would share how to make earrings of your own. I created some free svg earring designs that you can download so you can make the earrings yourself.

Faux leather earrings are so popular right now. You can make them at home with your cricut cutting machine and some patterned faux leather. Faux leather is the most popular choice but there are many other materials you can use such as paper, denim, leather, plastic, wood, cork, anything you can think of.

I love making earrings and I’ve been making tons since I got my cricut maker. And it inspired me to make some to share with you, you can find the free files here to download and use with your cricut or silhouette machine.

There are so many amazing designs but I thought I would start with something simple that you can use with any fabric design and you can customize to your liking by adding charms or painting the fabric or layer the designs.

You can buy the faux leather at many locations on the internet and my favourite is amazon because it is fast and reliable.

What kind of material can I use?

So the most commonly used material is faux leather. Faux leather is great because it is available in so many patterns and textures. And the material doesn’t fray, so you can cut out a design and not worry about rough edges.

Other popular materials are any thin plastic sheets, you can get creative and find stuff at your local dollar store, just think outside the box.

Thin wood also offers amazing results. You can use thin wood materials like balsam wood or cork. You just place it on your mat and cut it out like anything else. Its kind of awesome

And of course you can just root through your fabric stash and use left over fabric. But just keep in mind fabric can fray so its good if that’s the look you going for, but if not you might want to put a layer of mod lodge on it to stiffen it up and stop the edges from fraying.

Felt is also a fun choice, you can buy felt anywhere in lots of colours. Its easy to cut out and won’t fray when cut.

What other material do I need?

To start you just need to download the free svg cut file that you can use with your cutting machine. If you want to print them design to on paper and than trace it out onto your fabric you can do that as well. You can find the free design here.

I recommend using a cutting machine so that you get clean lines and plus they are super fun to use and have a lot of potential for other craft projects. I have a cricut maker and I love it.

You are going to need some earring hooks to attach the earring design to so you can wear them. You can find them online or in the craft section of stores.

If you want to really customize your design you may also want to buy some chain or jump rings for adding more length and designs. You can also customize the patterns with bead or fabric paint.

Where else can I find patterns?

I have several free earring SVG patterns on my blog:

If you want to read a detailed Step by Step Tutorial on how to make faux leather earrings with your Cricut machine and also about what tools you need check out this post here.

If you are looking for some ready made SVG cut file for crafting than check out my SVG shop. Here you can find lots of SVG files for making a variety of crafts! Click the link here to take a look.

You can also find lots of paid patterns on etsy. The great part of paid patterns is normally they have a great selection of unique designs that you won’t find anywhere else as compared to the free design that everyone will be using. Also if you want to sell the designs the paid designs sometimes include a commercial license while most free designs are for personal use only.

You can also do a google search for free earring svg designs and you will find lots of inspiring designs.

Pintrest is also an amazing source of earring designs. There are so many pinned designs there that will link to etsy, shops, or blogs.
