Making ornaments from paper is an easy craft you can do to decorate your home, office, or a fun craft to entertain your kids. I made this pattern that you can cut out with your Cricut machine and make lots of designs in different colors. They are very fast to make up and you can decorate them with sparkles, glitter glue or any random craft supplies you have on hand.

To get the free SVG file to make some fun Christmas designs just use the newsletter sign up form below and the SVG cut file will be sent directly to your inbox. Find lots more free SVG’s here.
After you download the free svg you can upload it to Cricut design space. Press the ungroup button to work on each layer separately.
Than select the vertical line and change it to score instead of basic cut.
Next select the design and the score line and press the attach line. This will connect the two layers together when you send it to “Make it”
In the “Make” screen I selected medium cardstock and I changed my tool to the scoring stylus. Than I upload my cardstock using the blue sticky mat and pressed the “C” button to cut out the shapes.
Here you can see the six shapes cut out. You can cut out more if you want a more detailed ornament, and you can also stack them and change the paper colors to alternate the colors.
Fold along the score line, keeping the right side of the paper on the inside. The outer sides will be glued together.
Use a glue stick, modge podge, or craft glue to apply adhesive on to one side and stack them on top of each other. Leave it dry underneath a flat weighted object such as a book.
After the layers are dry attach a ribbon or string. I used a hot glue gun but be aware this can add bulk so use sparingly.
Now use adhesive on the last inner side and glue the ornament together to create this 3D shape. Leave to dry before continuing.
There are lots of ways to decorate this design. You can leave it plain and just use different color papers to create a minimalist design. Or you can use craft glue and glitter or beads and glitter glue to create a more ornate design with lots of holiday cheer.
