Easy jewelry packaging with J hooks

Easy jewelry packaging with J hooks

Today I will teach you how to create easy and professional looking display packaging for your handmade crafts.

If you make your own handmade jewelry than your probably always on the lookout for new packaging ideas. Jewelry comes in all shapes and sizes from earrings, to bracelets, to necklaces and brooches and each one needs a unique package.

A quick way to display small and light jewelry is to hang them from racks. This is a great way to put them at the eyeline of customers. If you use simple cards to display your jewelry you can easily adapt them with a J Hook to turn them into something new.

J hooks are simple hooks you can make at home to take your jewelry packaging to the next level. They are so easy to make, just download the file here, send them to your cutting machine, and than attach them to your jewelry packaging.

There are so many shapes to choose from but today I’ll be demonstrating a simple j hook that can be used on plastic bags, business cards, jewelry cards and more.

For the paper I recommend you choose a sturdy heavy weight paper such as a 110lb card stock. This is the link to the paper I buy through thepapermillstore.com. They are my favourite shop for stocking up on paper for crafting.

How to make J hooks

1.Download the files here

2. Upload the files to your cricut design space. I recommend attaching the images so that they will print the same as you see them displayed.

3. Place your card stock onto your cutting mat and load into the printer. I set the cut settings to 80lb card stock

4. After wards remove the hooks from the mat and the pieces are ready to be attached to your cards. Cut a small strip of double sided tape and attach it to the front of the J Hook. After wards press into the card or plastic bag and you are all set.

Now your Jewelry is ready to be hung for display, easy for your customers to see.
