Scrunchies are a super fun craft to make. They are surprisingly quick and you can make one in just a few minutes. Its a great idea to make a bunch of them and you can have a different one to match every outfit or give them away as gifts.
You only need a few supplies to make a Scrunchie. You need a long piece of fabric, something that measures 22 inches or longer. You will also need some thin elastic that measures 1.2 inch or less.
Follow along as I show you how to make these easy scrunchies.

STEP ONE
Cut out a piece of fabric that is at least 3 inches wide and at least 22 inches long. With scrunchies you can improvise a lot, if you make the fabric wider or longer you will end up with a different shape with more scrunch.
STEP TWO
Cut out a piece of elastic that is 9 inches long if you want to tie it into a knot. If you prefer to hand sew it so there is no bump than I recommend a 7 inch piece of elastic.
STEP THREE
Place right sides together lengthwise and sew along the long edge of the fabric.
STEP FOUR
Turn fabric tube inside outside.
STEP FIVE
Pin elastic to edge of tube so it won’t slide through. Then slide the other end all the way through to the other edge of the tube.
STEP SIX
Either knot or sew the ends of the elastic together.
STEP SEVEN
Fold the edge of one side into itself around 1/2 inch and finger press a hem. Than slide the other unfinished end into it. And machine sew it shut.
