Fabric masks are so easy to make and just take around 5 min to make from start to end. All you need is some fabric, a measuring tape and a sewing machine.
There are many different face mask patterns out there including the 2 other mask tutorials I have on my blog including the woman face mask and the face mask with gathered sides that can allow for elastic or other drawstrings if you can’t get your hands on elastic.
The three ply face mask is the simplest style it is made of just a cotton front and back that are gathered and sewn together with elastic loops to go around the ears.
Fabric face masks are not as effective as surgical face mask but they are still beneficial. They can help you stop the spread of germs through coughs both from yourself and others. They can help you to stop touching your nose and mouth. It is important to remember to not file with the mask so that you don’t spread germs to your eyes. Just place the mask on with the elastic loops and than remove them with the elastic loops.
The masks are easy to wear and wash, just take them off after each use and through them in with your laundry. You may want to keep a few with you when you go out so you can change after each store. Then just place them in a baggy and throw them in the wash when you get home. You don’t want to wear the same mask for several days in a row.
Follow along as I show you how to make this quick and easy 3 ply face mask.
