Easy butterfly bows

Easy butterfly bows

Butterfly hair bows have got to be one of my favourite all-time crafts. They are full of joy and remind me of summer. I love using glitter vinyl because it is so easy to work with and brings some sparkle and shine to every project.

Make crafts at home with your cricut is just the best thing ever. Its so satisfying to be able to send a project to your printer and have it cut out perfectly. One of my favourite things to make with my cricut maker are hair bows.

Hair bows are so satisfying to make you just need one pattern and you can whip up a million different bows in different colours. There are so many different patterns to choose from online. I buy my glitter vinyl from amazon but you can use any material you like. I just love the sparkle and shine of glitter vinyl and I find it so easy to mold with my hands to get those perfect folds.

Follow along as I show you how to cut out and assemble these easy butterfly bows.

    What materials will I need?

To make a butterfly hair bow you don’t need many materials they are very simple to make. You may even already have a lot of them in craft stash. You need to have a pretty non fraying fabric like faux leather to cut out to make the wings. And I recommend that you have at least 3 colours of fabric. You want the antenna to be a darker colour.

    How to make the bow?

    STEP ONE

The first step is to download the pattern, you can find them here.

    STEP TWO

Place the glitter vinyl onto your matt and load it into your cutting machine.

    STEP THREE

Cut out the shapes. I recommend two different colours for the wings and a darker colour for the antenna

    STEP FOUR

Stack the wings on top of each other and fold them to get a nice crease.

    STEP FIVE

Than place the antenna behind the creased wings and wrap the band around the wings. Place a dot of hot glue to hold the band together.

    STEP SIX

Place some glue on the back of the glitter bow and place the hair barrette down to glue into place

VOILA now you are done. See how quick and easy it is to make these bows.
