Make an easy sew diy face mask for both men and women. These are great to keep or to give to friends and family.
So we are still all stuck and home but still have to go out once in a while for necessities. If you are wanting to feel protected and/or protect others from coughs than a simple mask is the answer.
Fabric masks are really easy to sew up and they are great to give as gifts to friends and family because a lot of people can’t sew. So if you are blessed with the patience to handle a sewing machine than I recommend trying this easy sew pattern.

Step by Step
- print out patter
- cut out paper pattern
- fold cotton right sides together
- trace out pattern onto cotton
- cut out cotton
- repeat steps 3-5 with flannel
- sew along the curved on both the cotton and flannel
- cut 3-4 darts along hem
- fold hem to one side
- place right sides of cotton and flannel together, pin together
- cut 2 pieces of elastic 8″ inches woman (9″ men)
- sew along top and bottom edge of pattern leaving sides opening for turning inside out
- cut piece of floral wire 6 inches long
- fold over and twist together
- zig zag stitch floral wire along nose hem of mask
- turn mask inside out, press with iron if needed
- top stitch along top and bottom edge of face mask
- fold edge 3 mm and than again 1cm to create the space for the elastic to slide through.
- top stitch into place, and repeat on second side
- slide elastic through sides and stitch to form a loop
The benefit of this pattern is that its adaptable, you can easily swap out the elastic with something else like a shoelace or ribbon. This is handy if elastic is in short supply.
