Womans easy sew diy face mask

How to make an easy diy fabric mask from cotton and flannel. This simple and straightforward pattern helps you to make a useful mask that is quick to make.

I had made a few simple 3 ply masks a few weeks ago and had handed them out to my family. Afterwards they asked me for more so that they could give them to their friends that didn’t have any access to masks. They wanted to wear the masks while they go grocery shopping so they could feel more protected from any air born contaminate.

I wanted to try a more form fitting mask because I wanted to create a mask that would pinch on the noise to keep out gaps. I created a mask that’s easy to wear and has a small wire that will pinch on the noise.

The mask is easy to wear you just place the elastic loops over your ears and than pinch the noise. Make sure to not fiddle with the mask or touch your face or you could transfer germs to your eyes and noise. After you finish your errands just remove the mask and throw it into your wash along with your cloths. Its best to not wear the same mask for several days because it will become soiled. Thats why its so great to be able to make your own masks so that you can make many for each day you go out.

Follow along as I show you step by step how to sew these easy fabric masks

The materials are easy to find they are just a simple cotton front and a flannel back. If you don’t want to go out than I recommend using what you have in your home such as old clothing or bed sheets. If you want to order on line you can find the cotton, flannel and elastic on amazon.

The features of the mask

  • simple elastic loops to pull behind your ears
  • curved front to conform to the shape of your face
  • metal band on noise so you can pinch to shape
  • highly woven cotton front
  • comfortable flannel back
  • easy to wash
  • reusable
